Samantha Power (b.
1970) is an academic and diplomat who served as the US Ambassador to the United
Nations. She also held the position of Special Assistant to the President
during the Obama administration, and of Senior Director for Multilateral
Affairs and Human Rights.

She
was the Founding Executive Director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy,
as well as a Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her 2003 book, A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of
Genocide
, won the Pulitzer Prize.
