Diane Lemieux (b. 1961) is a
Canadian politician and lawyer who dedicated most of her career to advocating
women’s rights and helping victims of sexual abuse. She was a member of the
National Assembly of Quebec for 10 years.

After
finishing her studies in Law, she became the spokesperson and coordinator of
the Quebec Coalition of Sexual Assault Centers. In 1996, she became the chair
of the Council on Women’s Status, the youngest woman to do so. Later, she
started working with the Quebec Commission of Construction, improving the
access of women in construction trades and fighting against intimidation on
construction sites.
