Dorothy Woolfolk
(1913-2000, right)
was a comic book writer and editor. She made history by becoming the first
female editor at DC Comics, during the Golden Age of Comic Books.

She
began working with All-American Publications (that would later form part of DC)
in 1942, as well as Timely Comics, the predecessor of Marvel. She wrote several
scripts for the Wonder Woman series,
and is credited with creating kryptonite in the Superman universe.
