Jackie Speier (b. 1950) is a US Representative for the state of California. She has supported numerous socially progressive causes such as reproductive rights, LGBT rights and gun control.
She was part of the mission that investigated human rights abuses by Jim Jones in Jonestown, where she was severely wounded after being shot five times. As a Representative, she proposed a bill to stop sexual harrasment and abuse of women in STEM. She has also proposed legislation for environmental protection and energy saving.
