Lithuanian chess player. She was awarded the FIDE title of Grandmaster in 2010.

She started playing
at the age of six, and won her first title, the European Youth Chess
Championships, at ten. She is a European champion and twice-national champion.

Marija Gimbutas (1921-1994) was a Lithuanian-American archaeologist,
working with the Neolithic and Bronze Age cultures of Old Europe. Her research
placed the Proto-Indo-European homeland in the Ukrainian steppe.

She studied in Lithuania and Germany, and started
working at the University of Harvard after relocating to the US. Over her
career she became a world-renowned authority on the Bronze Age.
